Q: Can I generate 100% unique passwords?

A: Yes! The Unique option is enabled by default. This option ensures that all passwords generated in one batch are all 100% unique, no duplicate passwords will be allowed.

Q: I don't want any special features, I just want to generate some passwords fast and easy. Can I do that?

A: Yes, this is what Normal mode is for. Just pick the types of characters you want the password made of, the length of the passwords and you're done!

Q: I need to generate a particular looking number, not just random characters, can I do that?

A: Yes, with the Masked mode, you can design your own passwords you want generated. Use the Mask Designer to more easily create them.

Q: I want to have the passwords in a Microsoft Excel sheet. Can I do that?

A: Yes, you can store the passwords, user names etc. in these formats: Text file, HTML file, XML file, CSV file, and Microsoft Excel file. You can also open a previously saved password list, and re-save it as for example an Excel file if you want.

Q: I want to incorporate the password generation into my own system or application. Can I do that?

A: Yes, using the command line feature, you can through your own application, send calls to Password Generator Professional whenever you want through commandline, and tell the generator to create the passwords you want. Then your application can either open the saved password file or e.g. fetch the passwords from the clipboard.

Q: I need to generate millions of passwords, but when saving these to file, the resulting file tends to be rather large and hard to work with. Is there anything one can do to help working with such large files?

A: Yes, you can use the "Output to multiple files" option. This will automatically divide up the files to the number of passwords you want, making more smaller files which are easier to work with.

Q: Can I generate serial numbers using Password Generator Professional?

A: Yes, although these serial numbers do not have an algorithm "behind" the numbers, the Masked mode is perfect for designing your own serial numbers.

Q: Is the random number generator used secure?

A: Passwords and numbers are generated using an advanced algorithm that creates high quality random numbers using a twisted generalized shift feedback register. It has a higher number of dimensions than linear congruential generators. It provides fast generation of very high quality, secure and random numbers.

Q: I need to generate passwords often, but don't want to setup the generator each time. How can I avoid this?

A: You can save a Template of the currently chosen password options. The next time you need to generate the same type of passwords, just open that Template. Alternatively you can create a commandline batch-file with the chosen options, and just run that when you need to create the passwords.

Q: What else can I generate except passwords?

A: Serial numbers, license keys, coupon codes, you name it! You can even generate user names or grab user names from a file. You can also make phonetic and hexadecimal versions of passwords. Using the Format mask, you can, say, tag each password with that password's number in the password list.
